Sharon Rosene Gillespie Estes, loving mother and grandmother passed away at her home in Eagar, Arizona surrounded by her family Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Sharon was born May 31, 1939 in St. Johns, Arizona, the oldest child of Nellie Rothlisberger and Leone Penrod Gillespie. She was the oldest of six children; sisters, Cathy Peters, Joy Udall and brothers, Arnold Gillespie, Thel Gillespie and Coy Gillespie.
Sharon spent her youth in Vernon, Arizona with many cousins, other relatives and friends nearby. She was raised with a love for family and attended as many family reunions as she could. She also enjoyed visiting with family members.
After graduating from high school, she married Corwin Elzy Estes on June 21, 1957 in Vernon. They lived in Eagar all their married life where they raised 4 children.
She was the proud mother of Dawnanna (Mark) Topham, Ivins, Utah; Kevin (Jane) Estes, Pinetop; Bryce Estes (deceased); Laurice (Dennis) Halford, Burley, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Sharon was a wonderful homemaker, quilter and enjoyed crocheting and other hand work. She loved the outdoors, picnics, gardening and trips to the mountains. She had a great faith and love of God and was often reading her scriptures. Living a Christ-like life was very important to her.
Sharon served in many ward positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She spent her life serving her children and those around her.
A viewing will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, 535 North Main, Eagar. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity building, 576 W. School Bus, Eagar. Interment will follow the services at the Alpine Cemetery.
