Manuela Hernandez, 74, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 in Springerville. She was born January 6, 1948 in La Cueva, Sonora, Mexico, the daughter of Ricardo Hernandez and Ramona Ortega.
Manuela was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing, spending time with her family and camping. She was a cook for Safire, Booga Reds, and La Perlita. She was well known in the community for her food and prided herself in having a taco stand and sharing her love of cooking. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Manuela is survived by her children, Manuela (Bob) Bills, Lake Havasu City; Amelia Perez, Eagar; Lolo (Dustie) Hernandez, Springerville; Daniel Hernandez, Springerville; Oscar (Rachel) Hernandez, Lake Havasu City; Jorge (Savanna) Hernandez, Springerville; mother, Ramona Ortega, brothers, Gabriel Hernandez, Ricardo Hernandez, Ismael Hernandez, sisters, Maria H. Caballero, Ramona Hernandez, Rosa E. Hernandez, Consuelo Hernandez, 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ricardo Hernandez, brother, Hector Hernandez and grandson, Michael Pena.
Rosary will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville, followed by a memorial Mass at 10 a.m.
