Barbara Romero

Barbara “Barby” Romero, 59, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 in Alpine, Arizona. She was born September 23, 1962 in Pasadena, California, the daughter of Antonio Wilfredo Romero and Emelin Maestas.

Barby was a Recreational Supervisor (retired), for the U.S. Forest Service and was an avid and talented photographer. Her favorite subjects were animals and nature. She captured amazing pictures and was an advocate for the rescue of dogs and cats. She was a master gardener; a true green thumb and loved her African Violets, cactus succulents and orchids, just to name a few.

We will remember a life well lived and taken too soon. May her spirit find peace in the heavens with God.

Barby is survived by her parents, Tony and Emma Romero, brothers, Leroy (Patricia) Romero, Burt (Louella) Romero, niece, Cassandra (Tim), nephew, Jared, special friends, Linda and Mitchel White and her beloved dogs, Jasmine, Mouse, Gypsy and numerous cats.

She was preceded in death by her beloved pets, Cheyenne, Junebug, Stripes, Precious, Cheeto, Peanut, Fuzzyball, Buttercup and Jazzy.

Barby will be laid to rest at a later date in her parent’s hometown in Penasco, New Mexico. Donations may be made to the Round Valley Animal Rescue PO Box 1772, Eagar, AZ 85925.
