Victor Clark Nelson

March 19, 1938 — July 26, 2018

Victor Clark “Tic” Nelson, 80, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at his home in Nutrioso. He was born March 19, 1938 in Nanafalia, Alabama, the son of Nealy Clark Nelson and Sally Ada Flowers Nelson.

Vic, Grandpa Vic, Tic or Goober, whatever you knew him by, was a cowboy who loved to hunt, fish, camp and work cows, but above all else, he loved his family. He loved a family get-together full of playing guitar and his girls singing songs as well as laughter and jokes.

As a young man, Vic moved to Ray, Arizona following his brother and looking for adventure. This is where he met his first wife, Gail. Together Vic and Gail raised their three daughters, where family trips, get-togethers and ranching were a way of life. Their daughters grew up and they gained their sons and a slew of grandkids. We had many water fights; he was always guilty of starting. Life was good.

In late 1997 Gail was taken from us. Before passing, she handpicked the woman we now have the privilege of calling Grandma Sandy. Sandy brought with her two sons and families and extended family. When Vic retired, he and Sandy purchased a motor-home and traveled the countryside. They became Arizona snowbirds. They spent summers in Nutrioso and winters in Kearny. Life was good.

Vic passed away peacefully, surrounded by 4 generations of family. They had a Celebration of Life with a BBQ in his honor, July 26, 2018 at his home in Nutrioso.

Vic is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughters, Anne (Mike) Miles, Tammy (Billy) Willis, Kathy (Lloyd) Sieloff, step-sons, Tom (Shawnee) Seller, Don (Tanya) Seller, brothers, Ted (Brenda) Nelson, Tom (Inez) Nelson, Larry (Phala) Nelson, sisters, Sandy (Chris) Ray, Tap (Son) Chesnut and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gail, siblings, Pete, Louise, Eloise, Doug, Brat, Fay and step-granddaughter, Mackenzie.
