Nadra Jeanne Hill

Nadra Jeanne Hill was born August 15, 1948 in Springerville and passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Springerville. Nadra is the daughter of Irl J. Lund and Betty Jane McInnes Lund. She was married to Gary Ray Hill, (dec.).

Gary and Nadra were married on June, 28, 1969 and were blessed with 6 children, Danny (Sherri) Hill, Safford; Robert (Katrina) Hill, Safford; Gary (Brandie) Hill, Eagar; Janie (Lee) Frieberg, Georgetown, Texas; Christopher Hill, (dec.) (Jessica), Utah; and James Tyson (Tracy) Hill, Safford. She has 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is survived by numerous family and friends including her 5 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.

Upon high school graduation, Nadra moved to Utah and attended Brigham Young University Business School. After Gary returned from Vietnam they were married and spent some time in Springerville and then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico as Gary began his career with Cummins. They then moved to Phoenix where Nadra started a cleaning business; Hill Enterprises. In 1985 they came back to the beautiful White Mountains where she continued to reside off and on for the remainder of her life.

Nadra was a lover of people and a nurturer. She was impeccably selfless and always put the needs of family and friends before her own. She loved her time in the White Mountains but enjoyed getting out and travelling as much as possible.

Her favorite pastimes were engaging with her beloved family and friends, reading books, watching movies and listening to music. Soon after the passing of Gary in February 2014, Nadra was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She made the most of her time following the diagnosis by traveling to see her six children, grandchildren and sisters; making new memories with the people she adored most. She later found companionship with Leo Laney and the family is grateful for the mutual love and care that was provided during their time together. Collectively, Nadra and Leo have 31 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Nadra is loved and will be missed immensely, by her family and friends.  

A viewing will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
