Mamie “Ethel” Etheline Sanders Slade, 88, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 5, 2018 in Eagar. She was born December 17, 1929 in Weinert, Texas, the daughter of Andrew Jackson Sanders and Sallie Edna Alexander Sanders. She was one of 12 children.
Ethel’s greatest enjoyments in life were her family, her home, her faith and her friends. Ethel loved a beautiful yard and her home was always lovely. Homemaking was a skill she was proud of and home was her favorite place to be. Ethel had many interests but her greatest satisfaction came from being a wife and a mother. She loved the great state of Texas and all those that lived there. It was almost like there was no other place in the world that existed outside her home states of Arizona and Texas. She loved life and she loved home!
She is survived by her sons, Alan (Judy) Slade, Mesa; Stephen (Donna) Slade, Eagar; Everett (Tammy) Slade, Eagar; David Slade, Springerville; 23 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren, brothers, Bud (Wilma) Sanders, Andy (Marlene) Sanders, Rocky Sanders, sisters, Marie (B.D.) Kirkland and Sue (Walter) Cox, all of Texas.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin L. Slade and daughter, Paula Ann Slade Kraemer.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
