Lillie Mae Snyder

June 17, 1934 — October 25, 2020

Lillie Mae Fuentes Snyder of Luna, New Mexico passed away peacefully in the early morning hours, Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the age of 86 at the Beehive Home of Eagar. She was born June 17, 1934 in Luna, New Mexico to Raymond and Mary Heath Fuentes. She attended school in Reserve, New Mexico where she graduated from high school in 1952. 

On August 3, 1952 Lillie married the love of her life George ‘Sonny’ Snyder. Later that year they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Lillie and her beloved husband resided in Luna for a short period and then moved to the Four Corners area where they eventually settled in Bloomfield, New Mexico. While living in Bloomfield, Lillie worked at the local floral shop, for the Bloomfield schools as the Nurses aid and then eventually going to work full time for the postal service. 

Lillie was loved by all because of her desire to serve others. She also loved to serve the Lord.  She served in the Relief Society, Young Women and Seminary just to mention a few. Later in life she and ‘Sonny’ served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the England Cornwall Mission (1987-1989) and in the  Records Vault Mission (1996-1998) located  in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Lillie is survived by her children, Carlton (Melanie) Snyder, Linden (Jeannee) Snyder, Melody (Darrell) Dayley, Lorraine Snyder-Hiser, grandchildren, Clara Snyder, Carla (Lucas) Engstrom, Mechelle (John) Bierman, Marc (Meg) Snyder, Brant (Nadine) Snyder, Brianne (David) Byerly, Alisha (Tommy) Hunsaker, Elyla (Michael) Mattice, Shanna (Collin) Draper, Kelee (Milo) Jury, Leisyl Snyder, Tierra Snyder, Marnie (Trebor) Evans, Sean Kiester, Lillie Nicole (Randy) McCormick, Natalia Burns, Kameron Hiser, Makayla Hiser, Trent (Brandi) Burns, Derinda Burns, 26 great grandchildren, sister, Shirley Snyder,  her amazing cousins and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Lillie is preceded in death by her husband, George ‘Sonny’, daughter, Sheree Turner, parents, Raymond and Mary Heath Fuentes, brothers, Joe, Raymond and Eddie and sisters, Helen Peters, Velma Russell, Myrtle Laney and Mary Orona.  

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Luna, New Mexico Cemetery.
