Lewis Eugene Walker, 84, passed away, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Eagar. He was born November 25, 1933 in Booneville, Arkansas, the son of Earl Mathis Walker and Minnie Mildred Hopper Walker.
Lewis was known by “Gene” by most and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a truck driver for various companies, retiring in 2008. He was married to his sweetheart for 44 years and lovingly referred to her as “Peg Leg.” He loved his family and was a hard-working, dependable worker.
“Gene” is survived by his wife, Peggy Walker, Eagar; sons, Richard (Patty) Walker, Oregon; Gordon (Phyllis) Walker, Oregon; daughters, Shannon (Rod) Winegar, Oregon; Darla (Fain) Hickerson, Oregon; step-children, John E. (Deana) Joy III, Blue; Jim (Cassie) Joy, Blue; LaVonna Hall, Springerville; Terry (Larry) Stanley, Yuma; step-daughter-in-law, Mary Joy, sisters, Charity Moore, Cottonwood; Ophia Simpson, Oregon, 25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Joseph Warren Hooper, brothers, Hensel Walker, Doyle W. Walker, sisters, Earline Walker, Ella Mae Adams and step-son-in-law, Toby Joy.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center.
