LaVerl Otis Connolly was born October 29, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LaVere Otis Connolly and Wanda Buckley Connolly. As the only boy, he was deeply loved by his sisters, Cynthia, Mary and Sheree.
Otis lived a beautiful life, touching many through his diverse careers and hobbies. Throughout his lifetime, Otis pursued several professions, including serving as a dedicated police officer, a skilled contractor and the Transportation and Maintenance Director at St. Johns School District. He was admired by many for his tireless work ethic and integrity.
Otis took pride in exceling in everything he undertook. His meticulous attention to detail was particularly evident in his favorite pastime; building hot rods, where he showcased his exceptional craftsmanship.
Above all else, Otis cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He found immense joy and fulfillment in being a parent to his 10 children, Michelle, Keri, Crystal, April, Amy, Erica, Candice, Nicole, Casey and Garrett. His pride and love extended to his 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Despite his tough exterior, Otis had a heart of gold and it showed whenever he spoke of his family.
One of Otis’ favorite things to do was quiet acts of kindness. He would often anonymously pay bills for people in need or pay for someone’s lunch at restaurants without them knowing. His sense of humor was infectious and mischievous in a fun way; teaching his family to find laughter even in the most difficult times. Otis' playful teasing and witty jokes created cherished memories for all who knew him.
