LaMell “Nick” Nikolaus, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019. “Nick” was born to Clara McNeil and Henry Israel Nikolaus July 4, 1943 in Snowflake.
One of nine siblings, he is survived by twin brother, LaVar (Myrna), sisters, Colleen (Lynn) McMullin, Bonita (Larry) Philibert, his wife of over 49 years, Janet (Greenwood), son, Darin (Laurel), daughters, Kristina Fulcher, Monique (David) Morrison, and son Marc. Grandchildren include: Preston, Brandon, Andrew and Patrick Nikolaus; Kemry (Ben) Farthing, Karissa, Kennadi, Kamden, Korben, Keagen Fulcher; Nikolas, Megan, Ellie, Cate, Adam, Anna Morrison; and great grandson, Donovan Farthing.
Nick was employed as a paper maker for over 45 years, working for Southwest Forest Industries in Arizona and retiring from Bear Island Paper Co. Doswell, Virginia in 2009. In his younger years he excelled in many sports and enjoyed participating in rodeos and water skiing. In later years he was known for his extra-large vegetable garden. He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A viewing will be held Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. with graveside services following at 10:00 a.m. at the Eagar Cemetery.
