Kathy Lou Randall Broadbent, beloved wife and mother, age 64, died peacefully, Monday, April 17, 2017 in her Washington, Missouri home after a lengthy battle with diabetic complications. Kathy was born April 21, 1952, in Liberty, Mississippi to Lula Beatrice Bates and Theodore Fairbanks Randall. She graduated from Liberty Attendance Center High School in Liberty, Missouri in 1970 and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she earned her Associates degree before marrying Steven Farr Broadbent on December 22, 1972. Kathy dedicated her life to her family. She was gifted at beautifying her surroundings through gardening and with her own art and hand crafts. She enjoyed playing the flute in community orchestras and at church. Continuing study of a broad spectrum of subjects as well as genealogy kept her occupied when she wasn’t caring for her family. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother, Theodore Fairbanks Jr., sister, Yvonne Ougel and brother, Ronald Dale. She is survived by her husband, Steven, siblings, Garry & Cherrie Randall, Debra Lynn Johnson, Eric & Charlotte Broadbent, Ann Broadbent, David & Janet Broadbent, Richard & Merrilee Broadbent, Randall & Marilyn Oveson, Patrick & Louise Baca, children, Rebecca (Greg) Petersen, Folsom, California; Rachel (Rusty) Marsh, Roseville, California; Benjamin, Washington, Missouri; Jesse (Emily Brown), Washington, Missouri; Elizabeth (Charlie) Blackburn, O’Fallon, Missouri; Miriam (Marcus) Wilkerson, Hampden, Maine, and Jedidiah (Rebecca Montgomery), Meridian, Idaho, 27 Grandchildren: Blake, Cecilee & Jesse Petersen, Porter, Chloe, Elizabeth, MaryJane & Ren Marsh, Jeremiah, Brigham, Alison & Caden Broadbent, Steven, Dan, Chase & AmyJane Broadbent, Drex, Quin, Liberty & Beauden Blackburn, Garrison, Lorelei, John & Chael Wilkerson, Trey, Brooklyn & Ella Broadbent.In consideration of memorial contribution the family suggests the North American Artists Foundation: 1332 Bugby Lane, Folsom, California 95630. A Viewing will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9:00-9:45 a.m. at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar, Arizona, with a Funeral Service following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the Funeral Services at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
