John Phillips Wheeler, 71, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at his home in Eagar. He was born September 15, 1945 in Phoenix, the son of Beniah Wheeler and Lovel Unroe Phillips Wheeler. John served in the National Guard and was the owner of Gilbert True Value Hardware and Gilbert Flooring Co. Three things John loved most: his family, his church and the outdoors. John is survived by his wife, Pauline Naylor Wheeler, Eagar; sons, Lance John Wheeler, Shawn Owen Wheeler, Matthew Lane Wheeler, all of Mesa; daughters, Wendy Ann Wheeler Phelps, Arizona; Julie Ann Wheeler Ferrin, Utah; step-children, John Matthew Tolman, Mark Andrew Tolman, Jeremy Luke Tolman, Benjamin James Tolman, Cameron Paul Tolman, Karalynne Tolman Sanders, all of Arizona, brother, Richard Wallace Wheeler, Arizona; sisters, Lovel Wheeler Blacker, Idaho; Karen Wheeler Jackson, Idaho, Diane Wheeler Hathcock, Arizona; 54 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Beniah Cutler Wheeler, II, Douglas Wayne Wheeler, William Ronald Wheeler and step-son Jason Aaron Tolman. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa.
