Jerry “Hitch” Allen Hitchcock, 69, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his home in Springerville. He was born March 3, 1948 in Springerville, the son of John Clarence Hitchcock and Nellie Percinda Adair Hitchcock.
Hitch loved living in Round Valley and enjoyed playing basketball in the high school for the Elks. He loved fishing, hunting, picnicking in the mountains and hauling wood. He was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous and loved to help and serve others. Hitch was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings that were very important to him. He dearly loved his wife of 44 years and son and daughter and his grandchildren were a great source of joy and pride in his later life.
Hitch is survived by his wife, Linda Kae Sherwood Hitchcock, Springerville; son, John Allen Hitchcock, Mesa; daughter, Karalea (Tim) Richards, Oak Park, California; sisters, Norma June Entrekin, Tucson; Debra Horner, Bloomfield, New Mexico; and grandchildren, Quin Richards, Cole Richards, Trinity Hitchcock and Ewan Richards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Milton J. Hitchcock, sister, Lana Gayle Hitchcock and daughter-in-law, Jeneane Hitchcock.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville building, with visitation one hour prior.
