If I should die tomorrow
without the chance to say goodbye
I hope that you will smile
through the tears I know you'll cry.
Remember life is fleeting
and we all must someday die
but heaven's all around us
It's not in some distant sky.
So when you see a rainbow,
or you hear a whippoorwill,
or you see a shooting star
know that I am with you still.
When you hear a distant melody
coming from the skies,
I know that you will see me
If you simply close your eyes.
For I have just gone home
to the place I lived before,
but I promise I will watch for you
when you come through heaven's door.
