Iva Faye Slade, left her mortal life, Sunday, February 20, 2022, to be greeted by her eternal companion, Merwin Lee "Conch" Slade, her baby boy, Michael Layne; that lived only a few days, her parents, her sister, Evon, her grandson, Chase McQuade Workman and a whole bunch of Slade and Jones relatives that have been waiting for her.
Iva Faye is survived by her children, James Merwin “Jimmy Conch”, Sandra Ann Workman, Richard Curtis “Chooch”, Rustin Kelly, Kenny Conch “K.C.”, 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Ivan and Mervin Jones, sister, Velma Kaye Penrod and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Iva was born May 13, 1936 to Ivan and Ruby Rogers Jones in Central, Arizona and raised in Coolidge, Arizona. As a young barrel racer, she met and fell in love with Conch the bull rider and they were married August 30, 1954. They lived and raised their family mostly in Eagar. She loved the children of the community and was a favorite preschool teacher and daycare provider for many years. She fiercely loved her family and was loved by all.
A viewing will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Eagar Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center.
We will miss you Sweet Mother, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend. Lots of love until we meet again.
