Glenna Bell Bond Crosby

May 30, 1933 — March 13, 2025

Eagar

Glenna Bell Bond Crosby, our sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at her home in Mesa, Arizona, Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the age of 91.

Glenna was born May 30, 1933 in Ramah, New Mexico to Joseph and Sylvia Bloomfield Bond. She was raised working on her dad’s cattle ranch. In 1950 Glenna graduated from Ramah High School. In September of 1954 she enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She studied there for a year and then returned home to Ramah, carrying with her a love of education that she would later instill in her children.

One of Glenna’s greatest joys in life was dancing. Fittingly, she met her eternal companion, Wyatt Crosby at a dance in 1955. Glenna loved dancing with everyone and was in no hurry to get married, but Wyatt was patient. Glenna saw what a faithful man and good cowboy he was and the two were married on September 5, 1958 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

The couple made Eagar, Arizona their first home and lived there until moving to Mesa. Wyatt and Glenna went on to split their time between Eagar and Mesa throughout their lives. They raised their 4 sons surrounded by friends and a loving extended family in both towns. They also briefly lived in Missouri after they purchased a ranch in Ava. Glenna and Wyatt celebrated 44 years of marriage until his death in 2002.

Glenna grew up learning how to work hard and she never stopped working until the day she died. Her upbringing molded her into the resilient, hard-working woman she continued to be throughout her life. When she was young, Glenna’s family had no electricity and no running water; if they wanted something they had to work for it. Because of this, she had an appreciation for everything and was grateful for life’s small joys. Glenna was involved in ranching most of her life. She and Wyatt also embarked on various business endeavors and Glenna could be found fixing up houses to rent or cleaning the motel they owned, all while raising her children.

Glenna was as fun as she was hard working. She loved rodeos and was even Ramah’s Rodeo Queen as a young woman. She loved babies, happy music, pretty flowers, friendly smiles and to dance to a good western band with a good dancer. Some of her favorite times were when she was able to spend time with her family, especially at family reunions. She especially loved her grandchildren and nieces and nephews and maintained a close relationship with them throughout her life.

Glenna always loved the scripture in Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” In life, Glenna experienced both joy and sorrow. She was able to face the sorrow because of her love for Jesus Christ. This love was made manifest by the service she rendered to others. She loved helping people and did not like to see people sad. She loved temple work and indexing. Glenna remained a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life and served in various callings. From 2005-2011 Glenna served as a Senior Sister in the Family and Church History Mission in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loved the work and all the friends she made there.

We know Glenna is having a joyous reunion with loved ones who preceded her in death, including her parents, her sisters, Alice Nicoll, Geraldine Tietjen, Marjorie Roberts, her husband, her sons, Jimmy Crosby, Dale Crosby and her infant daughter, Barbara.

Glenna is survived by her sons, Gary (Innette) Crosby and Jason (Janice) Crosby, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and siblings, Ann (Bruce) Nelson, Dean (Billie) Bond, Barb (Rudy) Grenko and Carolyn (Jack) Wolfe.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity building, 576 W School Bus Road, Eagar, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
