Glen E. Finnell, 83, a resident of St. Johns, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 in Gilbert. He was born March 16, 1936 in Superior, Nebraska.
Glen was employed as a journeyman welder, retiring at the age of 60. He loved history and would talk for hours about different events in history. Glen also loved watching and reading anything related to the Wild West. He talked a lot about John Wayne and loved visiting Tombstone with his family. He had a great Western video collection.
Glen was a veteran of the United States Army. He served his country proudly and appreciated and supported all of those who also serve.
Glen is survived by his wife, Arlene Finnell, St. Johns; son, Glen, Tucson; daughters, Tammy, Oklahoma; Debbie, Texas; Renie, Texas; brother, Danny, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Marian Sund, parents, Clarence Chambers and Bonnie Finnell, and grandsons, Glen Finnell and Bandy Daniel.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Wounded Warriors.
Rosary will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns, with a Funeral Mass following at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow the Funeral Mass at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
