George Kendall "Ken" Burns

July 19, 1943 — November 22, 2024

Vernon

George Kendall “Ken” Burns, 81, passed away, Friday, November 22, 2024 in Vernon, Arizona. He was born July 19, 1943 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the son of George Clifford Burns and Geneva Louise Cameron.

Kendall was very patriotic. He served 2 tours of duty in the Navy and was in the Air Guard. He was a very loving and devoted husband and a very good man, but stubborn. If he got something in his head you couldn’t change it. He was a very quiet person; kept to himself. He always had a project going; never a down time. He said if something was done perfect, he didn’t do it and he never paid anybody to do something he couldn’t do himself. Kendall loved to buy old equipment or vehicles and fix them up. He was very good at that. He cared about people, even if he was hard. If someone did something bad to him, he prayed for them. If he was your friend, he was a good friend; would help anybody that needed it. He had a very giving heart. Kendall was always thinking, praying and giving to St. Jude Shriners Hospital Operation Smile and Mercy Ships.

He left unexpectedly, but we know he is looking down on us and everything he got accomplished and now he is in God’s hands and we love and miss him so very much.

Kendall is survived by his wife, Marilyn M. Burns, sisters, Virginia Lucille Eaton and Nancy R. Wolfe, 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bobby, sister, L. Develle Boettcher and sons, Lonnie Burns and Chad Burns.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
