Frances Rose Solberg

Frances “Fran” Rose Solberg, 82, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at the Beehive Home in Eagar, Arizona. She was born January 22, 1940, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Caroline Marinucci.

Fran grew up and graduated in 1957 from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. She married Martin J. Solberg, III on November 2, 1957 also in Chicago Heights, Illinois. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona shortly after with Martin’s parents. They had 3 children, Martin J Solberg, IV “Buddy”, Laura A. Mounce and Carolyn M. Ticer.

Fran worked at General Electric and later at DeVry Institute of Technology. They eventually moved to Alpine, Arizona in 1987 to build their dream home. Fran worked at the Alpine Country Store, the library and the Alpine Post Office until she retired.

Fran loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved visiting with her many friends throughout the years. Her kind heart made everyone around her smile.

Fran is survived by her children, Martin J. (Laurie) Solberg, IV, Safford; Laura A. (Dale) Mounce, Safford; Carolyn M. Ticer, Safford; brothers, Sam (Jan) Marinucci, Delaware; Robert (Barb) Marinucci, Illinois, 8 grandchildren, Chad (Savannah) Solberg, Melissa (Joshua) Mata, David Gherna, Daniel (Megan) Gherna, Derrick Gherna, Becky Mounce, Kaitlyn Ticer, Mathew Ticer and 6 great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Chloe, Joshua “Tytan”, Peyton, Brayson and Oakley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin J. Solberg, III and her parents.

Frances' wishes were to have a small funeral with immediate family. Her Rosary will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Helena’s Catholic Church in Alpine, Arizona, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Alpine Cemetery.
