Evelyn Joyce Ziegler

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all. Joyce was born June 23, 1937 in Safford, Arizona, the daughter of Franklin Cook Bennett and Lila Josephine Gist.

Joyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many church callings from Primary President to Gospel Doctrine teacher. She also directed many roadshows with the youth winning first place many times.

Joyce enjoyed being a temple ordinance worker in the Snowflake temple with her husband Jake. They enjoyed life together for 66 years.

Joyce was a talented artist. She loved tole and folk-art painting. She taught tole and folk painting for many years at her store in Mesa, “Folk Art Country Sunshine”. To help her students support their lessons and supplies, Joyce started her seasonal boutique "Canterbury Cottage" with her good friend Iris in downtown Mesa. This boutique drew big crowds from all over and Joyce's talents were very well known.

Joyce loved living in Eagar, Arizona and loved the people who live there. She enjoyed attending the high school football and basketball games and became well known as “Granny Z”.

Joyce will be missed by her loved ones and the many who called her friend.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Brian Dale Ziegler, Daniel Arthur (Raine) Ziegler, Dwight Cook Ziegler, daughter, Robin Joy Campbell, sisters Janice Marble, Saundra Whiteside, Winona Barwick, Peggy Richburg, Barbara Thompson, 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jacob Ziegler, sons, Bruce Wayne Ziegler, Bradley Jacob Ziegler and daughter, Roxanne Crum.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
