Born to Canadian emigrants and raised on a dairy farm in Sackets Harbor, New York, Elizabeth Jerome Pickette, 93, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at her home in the White Mountains of Arizona. She was the youngest of seven children and the last of her siblings.
She attended Watertown High School, married James Hawley Pickette and raised three children: Penny Chipman, Eagar; James, Plattsmouth, Nebraska; and Michael, Papillon, Nebraska. She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great grandson.
Since her husband was a career member of the United States Air Force, Elizabeth and the children lived in many areas around the world including Tripoli, Libya, Ankara, Turkey, Lima, Peru and San Salvador, El Salvador as well as postings around the United States. She had been a resident of Prescott, Nutrioso and Eagar for forty-plus years.
A family and friends gathering and memory sharing will occur at the graveside in Calcium, New York at Calcium Cemetery, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a lunch at the farm where she was born.
