Elias Pino Aragon, 78, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Springerville. He was born in Red Hill, New Mexico the son of Eusebio Serna and Felisita Pino Aragon. The family moved to Springerville in 1950 to attend school.
In 1962 he joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Midway during the Vietnam War until 1966.
In 1967 he married Margaret Baca and had two sons, Steven and David "Goolie". He later married Linda Gray in 1997 who passed away January 5 of this year.
Elias (Liza) worked most of his life driving a logging truck which was his passion. He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and looking for old antique things. Most of all he enjoyed going to the Honda Casino. He was a “jack of all trades”. He was a great mechanic, plumber, electrician and carpenter for anything that needed fixing.
In May of this year over Memorial Day his niece, Krissee Aragon took him on a trip to San Diego, California to visit the USS Midway; the ship he served on during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his sister, Inez Aragon, Springerville; brothers, Danny, Eagar; Eliseo, El Mirage; and niece, Krissee.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, sons, Steven and David "Goolie", sister, Becky and his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. There will be no interment as his ashes will be spread per his request.
