Edward Ohia Kelepolo, 84, peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family Friday, March 15, 2019 at his home in Greer, Arizona.
He was born February 19, 1935 to Albert and Elisabeth Kelepolo in Hilo, Hawaii.
Edward grew up on the big island of Hawaii and later moved to Honolulu where he attended Farrington High School. He was active in sports, music and debate club. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Panama Crisis. After retiring from the Marine Corp. he worked as a logger at the Boy’s Juvenile Correctional Facility and at Salt River Project (SRP).
Edward was sealed to LaVeda Burk Kelepolo in the Los Angeles, California Temple.
He is survived by his wife, LaVeda Burk Kelepolo and his children, Alfred (Celia) Kelepolo, Ramona Harp, Tamara (Michael) Dunlap, Shawn (Melvin) Messer, Jeffrey (Carrie) Kelepolo, Everett (Nikki) Kelepolo, Liane Hernandez, Colette (Cass) Pond and Colleen Kelepolo.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Tara Kelepolo and Alexia Kelepolo.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity building with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
