On Saturday, March 3, 2018, Eddie Fuentes, 78, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away after a long journey with Alzheimer's disease. Eddie died peacefully in his own living room while his daughters and his beloved wife told him they loved him. He responded with a last “I love you” before passing.
Eddie served his country proudly as a United States Marine from 1958-1964. He always lived by the code, Semper fi, “Always Faithful.”
He will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Josie and his children, Amy (Chuck) Moter, Ida Fuentes, Mary (Tony) Raykovitz and Becky (Chad) Cooper. His legacy will continue on with his grandchildren, Shondra (Ricky), Josh (Kristy), Reece (Dallas), Cole (Amanda), Rayne (Liz), Carly, Riley, Cheyenne, Eddie (Madi), Rio, Cai and Robin and great grandchildren, Kayley, McKenzie, Ava, Zoey, Ricky Charles, Josh Jr., Benjaman and Autumn. He is also survived by three sisters, Helen, Lily and Shirley as well as numerous nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters and a great grandbaby, Rindy Lou.
Rosary and a Funeral Mass in memory of Eddie will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville. Following the services there will be a procession to the Luna, New Mexico Cemetery for a graveside service with military honors. A luncheon will be held afterwards at The Luna Community Center.
