Douglas Norton Slade, 46, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was born April 5, 1975, the son of Darwin Alan Slade and Judy Lynn Norton.
Doug was raised in Eagar and attended Round Valley High School. He participated in baseball, track, football and basketball; basketball being his favorite. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He also liked running and riding his bike to work.
Doug was very family oriented. His kids were his world and he was excited to become a first time grandpa to his unborn granddaughter, Gracie.
Doug was the first to help anyone in need. He was always willing to offer his time, resources and knowledge to those in need. He spent some time working for Sierra Propane, but spent most of his career in the semiconductor industry at Intel. Doug was very respected in the positions he held at his jobs as he had a great work ethic and was beloved by those around him.
Doug is survived by his wife, Lorie Slade, children, Sadie (Jeremy) Collins, Derrik (Calli) Slade, Kamryn (Joseph) Richey, step-children, Dorian McCants, Isabelle McCants, unborn granddaughter, Gracie Collins, parents, siblings, Darwin Slade, Jr., Denton Slade, Andrea Brown and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who love him.
Doug was a great man and will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
