Darrel Edwin Milligan, 60, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. He was one of a kind. The Lord decided he needed another angel on that date.
Darrel loved children and little dogs. His little Yorkie, a service dog, that was a natural born service dog, saved his life many times during recent years. When Darrel's blood sugars were too low, Willie would make sure he woke somebody up to help Darrel. Lassie had nothing on Willie. Willie passed away from cancer about a week before Darrel became very sick in July. Darrel had spent the last few months in medical care, with multiple complications in Phoenix, but came home once more before he left us.
He was a truck driver until he became too ill from diabetes to be out on the road. Darrel will be missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Milligan, father, Loyd Milligan, sister, Debbie Milligan (Grem ) Lee, niece, Tana Lee Smith, step-siblings, Michele Winder, Terie and Stevie Gabaldon and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and a semi load or two of friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Milligan, his step-mother, Dona Milligan and his grandparents on both his maternal and paternal side; that he also loved deeply.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Reserve Community Center, followed by a meal for everyone to come together and share memories of Darrel. We selected this date as it is right after his birthday on March 12th. Please join us in celebrating his life. He loved Waylon and Willie enough to name his dog after one of the two. He couldn't decide and left it up to his sister, Debbie to decide. He also loved Roseanne Cash music and lots of other music. Please feel free to bring some tunes, stories or photos to share.
