Charles Buck Hensley, Jr., 88, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his home in Concho. He was born December 31, 1928 in Roweena, Texas, the son of Charles Buck Hensley, Sr. and Leola Jones Hensley. Charles moved to Arizona from Texas and raised 12 children with his first wife, Dorothy. She passed away in February 1983. He married Nancy Knowles in 1984. They were married for 33 years. He was an example of strength, commitment and endurance. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a contagious laugh. He loved running his back hoe and retired from operating engineers #428 when he was 60 years old. After retiring Charles continued serving the White Mountain area, running his own business until the age of 84. Charles is survived by his wife, Nancy Hensley, Concho; sons, Buck Hensley, Dennis (Delores) Hensley, Mike (Melinda) Hensley, Chuck (Janie) Hensley, Randy (Concie) Hensley, Joel Hensley, daughters, Billie Canady, Charlene (Alan) Allcott, Tracy (Marcel) VanderWarden, stepchildren, Kirk (Sue) Konecny, Robert (Hannah) Konecny, Carl (Betsy) Powell, Rick (Joann) Graham, brothers, Duane (Elaine) Hensley, Steve (Callie) Hensley, Jeff (Sharon) Hensley, sister, Fay Claycomb, 53 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Velma Hensley, first wife, Dorothy Hensley, brother, Bruce Hensley, sister, Lou Hensley, sons, Larry Hensley, Darryl Wade Hensley, daughter, Joyce Gibson, daughter-in-law, Darlene Hensley, 3 grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Stake Center, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
