Carol Ann Feezor

September 27, 1938 — April 9, 2019

Carol Ann Feezor, 80, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 in Roosevelt. She was born September 27, 1938 in Mesa, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth McDonald Feezor.

Carol was the youngest of 4 children, Gary, Donna Jean and Marilyn Elizabeth. When she was only 2 months old, her mother died from a ruptured colon. Elizabeth’s sister, Agness and her husband, Marion Lund, adopted her and her sister, Marilyn and they were taken to the beautiful valley of Greer to grow up with Denzel, Cloyd, Irl, Gail, Janel and Nathel.

Marion and Agness moved from Greer to Eagar and it was there that Carol met and married Rodney Slade. From that union came 6 children, Duane Leroy, Dani Karol, Rodney Dale, Deniese Cherie, Shanna Rae and Raymond Curtis.

Carol did many things from waitress and cook for Nazer Knight at Reed’s Restaurant in Springerville, which is now Booga Red’s, working for judge Dan Burk at the Justice of the Peace in Springerville, Town Clerk for the Town of Eagar, and an EMT for the Town of Eagar. In 1979 Carol and Rodney moved to Farmington, New Mexico where she went to work at the San Juan Regional Medical Center in the emergency room admitting office and also for Dr. Spence.

When she and Rodney divorced, she moved to St. Johns and went to work there for the Clerk of the Court. She loved the people that she worked with there and made some lasting friendships. She retired from there but loved it so much she went back part-time for a while. She then went to work for John Lee.

Carol loved to make wedding cakes, fix lots of people’s hair, play volleyball and play taxi for 6 children, but most of all, she loved to cook and she was an amazing cook. She was always pleasant to be around and had a wonderful sense of humor. That sense of humor stayed with her through all of her medical turmoil until the day she could no longer speak. She will be dearly missed, until we meet again.

Carol is survived by her children, Duane (Christine) Slade, Roosevelt; Dani (John) Sherwood, Gilbert; Dale (Jean) Slade, Farmington, New Mexico; Deniese (Jeff) Raban, St. Johns; Shanna (Kim) Penrod, Vernon; Curt (Colette) Slade, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters, Marilyn Hale, Janel Farr, 23 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Feezor and Marion and Agness Lund, brothers, Gary Feezor, Denzel Lund, Cloyd Lund, Irl Lund, Gail Lund, sisters, Donna Jean Isley, Nathel Steele, granddaughter, Nicki Slade and grandson, John William Sherwood, IV.
