Aubrey Rusco Stanton, 93, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Eagar. He was born October 14, 1923 in Collbran, Colorado, the son of Frank Rusco Stanton and Edna Martha Turnbull Stanton. Aubrey was in the Army Air Force during WWII. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State College. He retired from the Soil Conservation Service after which he did contract work for the state and then sold real estate for Century 21. He remained active on several boards, committees and with his church. Aubrey volunteered at the schools and did tours for Casa Malpias. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, skiing and swimming. Some of his favorite hobbies were building and flying model airplanes, painting, pottery and jewelry making. Aubrey was a loving, devoted husband to his wife, Bernie of 70 years, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He remained active and healthy into his 90’s. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Bernice Stanton, daughters, Marilyn (John) Bush, T or C, New Mexico; Becky (Conrad) Rodriquez, Eagar; grandchildren, Geri Bush, Finland; Jessie (Michael) Knopic, New Mexico; Cody (Mijin) Bush, Australia; Lori Craig, Arizona; Jeff (Scotti) Rodriquez, Arizona; 4 great grandchildren, with 1 on the way, 2 step-grandchildren and sister, Louise Dixon, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Max Stanton and 3 nephews, Roger Stanton, Randy Dixon and Gary Dixon.
