Arthur Herbert Shupe, 85, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at his home in Eagar. He was born March 27, 1933 in Colonial Juarez, Mexico, the son of Walter Shupe and Genieve Marie Huish Shupe.
Art served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1958 and was a copper miner for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hiking. He also loved his job running the Round Valley Irrigation and later as the Water Commissioner. He was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions there. Art loved spending time with family and all his grandchildren. He was always willing to help anyone in need.
Art is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lynn Shupe, son, John (Elizabeth) Shupe, daughters, Mary (Freddie) Garcia, Kay (Manuel) Herrera, brothers, Walter Shupe, Bill Shupe, Roland Shupe, sister, Marie Thompson, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin granddaughters, one sister and two brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
