Arthur Lloyd Eagar, 76, of Eagar, passed away April 4, 2019 in Maricopa. He was born March 5, 1943 in Phoenix, the son of Arthur and Clarcia Eagar and little brother to Karen Eagar Young.
Art graduated from Round Valley High School Class of 1961. He received a scholarship to the University of Arizona where he attended his freshman year before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands for 2½ years. After his mission he returned to the University of Arizona and remained a loyal Wildcat fan.
Art met his wife, Linda at the U of A. They married in the Mesa Arizona Temple August 22, 1969.
Art worked for Royal Crown Cola in Tucson and The Pop Shoppe in Phoenix before moving back to Eagar in 1979 where he worked at Eagar (Hall) Building Supply before going to work for the Round Valley School District. In 30 years at RVUSD, his employment included maintenance, Dome Construction and Activities Supervisor and Maintenance/Transportation Director. Even after retirement, he had several years of consulting. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Transportation Administrators of Arizona.
Art loved growing up in Eagar and wanted to raise his family there. He loved and served the people of Round Valley. He served on the Eagar Town Council as Vice-Mayor and as Mayor and played a big role in the start of Eagar Daze.
Art was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including Bishop of the Eagar 4th Ward. He was a quiet giant who loved his family with all his heart. They and others were the beneficiaries of his faith, strength and wisdom.

Art is survived by his wife, Linda Goodman Eagar, their children, Forrest (Jodi), Dwight (Tracy), Lynette (Robert) Murray, Sandra (Troy) Duncan, Janice, 21 grandchildren and sister, Karen (Jerry) Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A viewing will be held Friday, April 12, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
