Alice Faye Brown, 77, died peacefully in her home in Eagar, surrounded by her family, Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was born September 21, 1944 in Lordsburg, New Mexico, the daughter of Floyd Pace Johns and Wanda Brown.
Alice grew up in Virden, New Mexico helping on the family farm. She was a stellar athlete and excelled in volleyball in high school. Alice moved to the Round Valley area in 1977 and made this mountain her home. She spent her life giving to others and was always running errands, cutting hair or feeding people in need in the community.
Alice worked at the VFW for 20 years and had a special place in her heart for veterans. Her world revolved around her children and grandchildren and her door was always open for all of them and their friends. She enjoyed cooking and you never left her house hungry. She enjoyed watching all play sports and just hanging with her grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local VFW Post 8987 to support local veterans in Alice’s name.
Alice is survived by her sons, Willie (Lisa) Babers, Justin (Tomee) Brown, daughters, Sheri (Chip) Frizzell, Cody (Milo) Thomas, Mindi (Tim) Hill, step-son, Cordale (Jennifer) Brown, brothers, Robert Johns, Rodger Johns, sister, Floydean Hicks, 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Brown, sisters, Loraine Duncan, Viola Moore, Dorine Poe, brothers, Dewayne Johns, Vann Johns, son, Shawn Babers and grandson, CJ Frizzell.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
