Lee Winters

August 8, 1965 — December 10, 2024

St. Johns

Lee Winters, 59, passed away, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 in St. Johns, Arizona. He was born August 8, 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Albert Lee Winters and Thelma Marie Pattee.

Lee Winters was a devoted, loving, fun, selfless son, husband, father, uncle and grandfather. Lee was very dedicated to his family. He always prioritized family time over anything else. His favorite family gatherings were every Tuesday for Taco Tuesdays and Spaghetti Sundays, featuring Lee’s famous spaghetti! Lee absolutely adored his grandchildren. He is leaving behind 7 beautiful grandkids that will miss him dearly. He would always quote song lyrics in almost every conversation. He had a great love for music and technology particularly for building computers. He enjoyed his retro games and sharing that passion with his family. Lee would find joy in fulfilling these hobbies by searching thrift stores to find the treasures he needed for building his new computer systems.

While, at the time, raising four boys, he was able to complete a bachelor’s degree in IT Computer Science. Lee also obtained his CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements. With this accomplishment he was a propane tanker driver and eventually transferred over to Shamrock and drove a milk tanker. A few years later he ended his CDL journey driving for Blue Hills in St. Johns. On August 8, 2024, not only did Lee turn 59, but he had also received the news about the masses that were located on his pancreas and liver. With that discovery, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He fought long and hard the last 4 months with the love and support of his loved ones who stayed by his side every step of the way. Lee was called home December 10, 2024 at 1:30 a.m. while surrounded by his loving family. Lee touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed!

Lee is survived by his wife, Cindy Winters, St. Johns; sons, J.T. (Kenyon) Winters, Queen Creek; Todd (Cheyenne) Winters, St. Johns; Spencer (Korryne) Winters, Chandler; Ammon (Jess) Winters, Maricopa; daughter, Truelee (Camden) Payne, Tempe; parents, Albert and Thelma Winters, brothers, Brian Winters, Cameron (Rachel) Winters, sisters, Wendy (John) Cameron, Beth (Neil) Traver, 7 grandchildren, Benjamin, Weston, Maple, Skyler, Bridger, River, Ryker and many nieces and nephews.
