Neoma Ann Tepfer

Neoma Ann Tepfer, 74, passed away, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Hinkson Assisted Living in St. Johns. Neoma was born in Topeka, Kansas March 9, 1943, the fourth of eight siblings. Neoma’s family settled in Dayton, Ohio where Neoma remained throughout high school. She enjoyed time with family, friends, and animals and was active in her community through her work with the Civil Air Patrol. When she was 19, Neoma moved to Ontario, California where she lived with her grandparents and worked in her uncle’s jewelry store. In 1962, she met and married Bob Tepfer. The couple relocated to Norwalk and later Lakewood, California where they welcomed the arrival of their two sons, Colin and Sean. The family relocated to Irvine, California in 1979 where they lived until their sons graduated high school. In 1990, Bob and Neoma moved to the Lake Matthews area of Perris, California. Neoma spent 15 years with the Internal Revenue Service, where she rose to the position of Auditor in various offices throughout Southern California. After retiring, the couple relocated to Taylor, Arizona in 2003 where they spent the remainder of their nearly 50 years of marriage together until Bob’s death in February of 2011. Due to health issues, Neoma later moved to Hinkson Assisted Living in St. Johns in 2015 where she remained until her death. Neoma was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Mae Crump, her father, Elmer Ervin White, and her husband, Bob Tepfer. She is survived by her son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren, Colin, June, Emily, and Stephen Tepfer of Austin, Texas, and her son and daughter-in-law, Sean Tepfer and Catherine Bjerum of Olney, Maryland. The family will hold a private memorial service Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Neoma will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Neoma’s name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (www.alzfdn.org).
