Lucie Marguerite Frenke Erhart of Eagar, former teacher at Round Valley Schools, died Thursday, February 23, 2017. She was born May 20, 1927, the daughter of Arthur Herman Frenke and Fernande Jamet Frenke. She was a native of Louisville, Kentucky and a graduate of Spaulding University. Mrs. Erhart was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the Oblates of St. Benedict, the American Legion Auxiliary, the White Mountain Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi, an Associate of the Sisters of Nazareth, Kentucky, as well as a life member of the National Rifle Association. For ten years she was a Chief Instructor in Round Valley of the Arizona and National Rifle Association Firearms Training Program. A well-travelled woman, Mrs. Erhart toured a number of European countries with her husband, her sisters, and her children. A hunter, she also hunted internationally, in Angola, Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, Australia, New Guinea as well as in a number of U.S. states. Mrs. Erhart was licensed to teach school in Kentucky, Indiana and Arizona, and taught a number of grades at Round Valley schools in Arizona, including Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. She was most proud of the number of adults she taught to read. Survivors include her husband, Herbert; her sisters, Yvonne Frenke (Sr. Miriam, SCN) and Madeleine Jenne of Louisville, Kentucky; her children, Chris (Frank) Gudorf, Pat (Roy) Mottahedeh, Bobbe (Norbert) Stahl, Vickie (Steve) Montgomery, Connie (Rob) Martin, Jeff (Diane), Greg (Jacque), Alex (Barbara), and Steve (Susan); 35 grandchildren; and over two dozen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Michel, her daughter, Jacqueline, her cousin, Jacques, and grandchildren, Victor, Crystal, Justin and Isaiah. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church followed by a buffet at St. Peter's Church Hall. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to American Legion youth activities.
