Cornelius “Neil” Ridley, 92, a resident of Quemado, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 in Springerville. He was born March 24, 1924 in Arcadia, Louisiana the son of John MacIntyre Ridley and Fannie Pairlee Worthington Ridley. Neil served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII from 1943-1945. He was a custodian for Spackenkill School District. He loved his family and was a foodie. Neil is survived by his sons, Christopher (Kathy) Ridley, Mark (Pat) Ridley, both of Williamsburg, Virginia; daughter, Judee (Bill) Lund, Quemado, New Mexico; sister, Dimple Ridley, Gainesville, Georgia; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Janet, Robert, Kristin, Sarah, 3 great grandchildren, Annie, Addie, Cody and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Ridley in 2007. A Visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 from 10:00-11:45 a.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar, with Graveside Services following at 12:00 noon at the Eagar Cemetery. Interment will follow the graveside services.
