Luana Bond Jarvis, 75, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at her home in St. Johns, due to complications of pancreatic cancer.
Luana had a special way of showing love for everyone she knew. She lived a life of service as she cared for her mother, her mother-in-law and father-in-law for many years. She served in various capacities in her church including Primary President, Young Women's President and Relief Society President. Her greatest service and love was for her grandchildren. Luana was an elementary school teacher and many children called her their “second Mom”. In their retiring years, Luana and Mervin served two missions in the Arizona Tempe Mission at the Gila River Indian Community. They spent many hours teaching and helping the people there in many ways, especially in the area of planting, growing, and harvesting gardens.
Luana is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mervin Jarvis, St Johns; children, Kaylene Jarvis (Daniel K.) Greenig, Forney, Texas; Brad (Shauna Carpenter) Jarvis, St Johns, 13 grandchildren, and siblings, Clara Anita Bond Graff, Leeds, Utah; Marius Laverl (Mary Soffe) Bond, Ramah, New Mexico; and William Dolen Bond, Tucson.
