Milton Kay Laney, 57, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born September 7, 1959 in St. Johns, the son of Leo H. Laney and Myrtle Jean Fuentes Laney.
Milton grew up in Round Valley and graduated from Round Valley High School in 1977. He moved to Oklahoma about 15 years ago and was a retired diesel mechanic. Milton worked on power plant construction, worked for Alpine Trucking, and went to school in Tulsa, Oklahoma to learn computer systems on trucks. He was also a mechanic for Tulsa Freightliner. He was a good mechanic and liked guns, knives, camping and hunting. He recently returned to live with his father in Mimbres, New Mexico.
Milton is survived by his father, Leo Laney, Mimbres, New Mexico; brothers, Kelly (Bridget) Laney, Springerville; Leonard (Lou Ann) Laney, Springerville; Brian Laney, Springerville; sisters, Traci Laney, Springerville; Jeanette (Mike) Smith, Springerville; Leahann (John) Bynum, Quemado, New Mexico and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Laney.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville Building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Luna New Mexico Cemetery.
