Edwvijis “Vicky” P. Armijo, a resident of Phoenix, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at her daughter, Lisa’s home in Springerville. She was born May 6, 1931 in the small village of San Jose, the daughter of Louis Pedregon and Maria Cervantes Pedregon.
Vicky enjoyed family life and was very strong in her faith with our Heavenly Father. She enjoyed going out to eat, riding in the mountains to see wildlife and was a big fan supporter of her children’s school activities. She and Edward loved to travel and see many sites. She loved dancing, crocheting, sewing, cooking and grandchildren. The family would like to thank Heather Stroud and Hospice for the care they provided for Vicky.
Vicky is survived by her sons, Edward C. (Leslie) Armijo, Phoenix; Edmund (Tamra) Armijo, Scottsdale; Emil A. Armijo, Phoenix; Eric J. (Christine) Armijo, Chandler; daughter, Mary Ann E. “Lisa” (Joe) Chavez, Springerville, sisters, Lily (Alfredo) Maldonado, Safford; Julia (Lico) Escobedo, Glendale; Leonore Leon Hollister, California; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward C. Armijo and sister, Aurora Pinon.
Rosary will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10815 N 35th Ave., Phoenix, with a funeral mass following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix.
