Melba Chauvin, 87, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her residence in Alpine. Melba was born May 14, 1929 in Long Beach, California, the daughter of Alvin Jenkins Hoskin and Elizabeth Ellen Hemingway Hoskin.
Melba was the owner of The Outpost RV trailer park. Melba was an animal lover. She always looked for ways to help others. She loved the White Mountains and had a strong faith in God. Melba will be greatly missed by those that survive her.
She is survived by son, J. Kevin Chauvin, Alpine; daughters, Sharon D. (Allen) Russ, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Karen Portillo, El Paso, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Melba is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Chauvin.
Upon her request, no viewing or services will be held. The family has requested that donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
The family would like to thank her granddaughter, Amanda Kelly, for the love she provided, and Hospice for their recent help.
