Kenneth Marlin Foster, 78, of Eagar passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Kenneth was born in Okolona, Mississippi to Charles and Maudie Foster on July 14, 1938. He was a veteran and served in the Marines from 1956-1958. He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission from 1959-1961. He married Cheryl Ann Tanner on September 15, 1961 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. Kenneth graduated from Arizona State University and worked as a teacher, coach and administrator in California and Arizona for a total of 30 years, retiring from Round Valley Schools. He had the fortunate opportunity to return to his original mission field after retirement when he and Cheryl served a full-time temple mission at the Chicago Illinois LDS Temple from 1999-2000. He was very involved in his church and family life and enjoyed playing and watching most sports, especially baseball.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joseph and Carl Foster.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Ann Foster, sons, Kenneth Foster, Jr., Clifton Foster, Christopher Foster, daughter, Kelly Slade, 14 grandchildren, brothers, Will Foster, Charlie Foster, Jimmy Foster, sister, Brenda Eldridge and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity Building, 576 W School Bus Road, Eagar Arizona, with visitation one hour prior. Kenneth will be laid to rest at the Eagar Cemetery following the funeral services.
