Jerry Lee Nelson, 68, a resident of Eagar, passed away at his home, Monday, September 5, 2016. He was born February 2, 1948 in Springerville to Leo and Editha Nelson.
Jerry dedicated four years of his life to the U.S. Army during the years 1968-1972. After his service, his occupations included truck driving and heavy equipment operator for the company Arrow Trucking. He also worked for the town of Eagar as an animal control officer and fire chief. He was an avid scroll sawer and made little houses and old west structures. Jerry enjoyed wood hauling and fence building. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he fulfilled his church duties and enjoyed living the gospel.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Ginger Blair, Eagar; brothers, Stephen E. Nelson, Eagar, James Wayne Nelson, Eagar; grandchildren, Kimberlee Blair, Kaylab Blair, Dawson Blair, Tryton Blair; and great-grandson, Landon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Jereldine Nelson and Sarah Ann Miller.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville Building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the Funeral Services at the Eagar Cemetery.
