Rhoana Fish Crowther, born October 3, 1916, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016, just 44 days shy of her 100th birthday.
Rhoana and her late husband, Cliff, moved to Holbrook on her 24th birthday in 1940 with three small boys. They would eventually have four more boys and one girl. They raised their family and worked in Holbrook for 62 years. Rhoana’s last job was as the 1st woman hired by the Holbrook Police Dept. She was hired in August 1963 as a dispatcher, matron and secretary, retiring in October 1980, after 17 years of service. Rhoana loved her home on McLaws Road and had a hard time leaving in 2002 to move to Gilbert to live with her daughter, where she resided until her death. Her family was her #1 priority and her pride and joy.
Rhoana was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her testimony was revealed by her example to all. She was much loved and highly respected by her entire family and will be missed greatly.
Rhoana is survived by her children, Tom Crowther, Jim (Judy) Crowther, Bob Crowther, Larry (Evelyn) Crowther, Leland Crowther and Clara (Phil) Hardy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Crowther, youngest son, Cliff Crowther, Jr. and oldest son, Frank Crowther.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Holbrook Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Holbrook City Cemetery.
